Exciting Autumn Session of Assam Legislative Assembly Commences Today Under Unprecedented Security Measures<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The session will kick off with a one-hour Question Hour, allowing members to address urgent issues. Subsequently, the state government will present the Supplementary Demands for Grants for the 2024\u201325 fiscal year, detailing the additional financial requirements needed.<\/span><\/p>\n

A significant aspect of this session is the planned introduction and discussion of 13 government bills, as communicated by the state government to the Assembly Secretariat. Among these bills is the Assam Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Vacancies in Services and Posts) (Amendment) Bill, 2024, which aims to modify the reservation policies in government services.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other important bills include the Assam (Temporarily Settled Areas) Tenancy (Amendment) Bill, 2024, intending to update tenancy regulations; the Assam Skill University (Amendment) Bill, 2024, focused on improving educational infrastructure; and the Assam Police (Amendment) Bill, 2024, which proposes revisions to the current police framework.<\/span><\/p>\n
