In the first operation in West Tripura District, officials, acting on a tip-off, raided the residence of Gouri Debnath in Fultali, near the Indo-Bangladesh border. Sub-divisional Police Officer Sankar Debnath stated that this raid led to the discovery of seven pouches of brown sugar, totaling 100 grams and valued at approximately Rs 6 lakh. Gouri Debnath\u2019s husband, Krishna Debnath, is already implicated in an NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) case.<\/span><\/p>\n

Simultaneously, in North District, Superintendent of Police Bhanupada Chakraborty reported the apprehension of Jahanara Begum who had arrived on a train from Silchar to Agartala. Acting on another tip-off, police conducted a joint raid, seizing about 20,000 Yaba tablets valued at around Rs 1 crore. Jahanara Begum, who hails from Boxanagar in Sepahijala District, is scheduled to be presented before the court for police remand.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both operations underscore the significant efforts by Tripura Police and associated agencies in combating drug trafficking in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n
