O<\/span>bserver Minister Ranoj Pegu<\/a> met with the leadership of the BJP from the three hill districts in Diphu today with the aim of selecting a candidate for the sole Lok Sabha<\/a> seat representing those districts. The meeting took place separately with the district committees of the three areas at the BJP office in Diphu at 4 PM, where Dr. Ranoj Pegu, the observer and minister from the Assam government, participated. It is to be noted that for the Diphu Lok Sabha seat, several candidates, including the current MP, Horensing Bey, have applied for candidature as reported by party sources.<\/span><\/h4>\n

BJP’s Strategic Caucus in Diphu: Minister Ranoj Pegu Spearheads Candidate Selection for Critical Lok Sabha Seat<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Member of Parliament Horen Sing Bey, along with Diphu legislator Bidyasing Engleng, senior BJP leader Lanki Phangcho, RSS leader Balram Phangcho, powerful executive member of the council Amarsing Tisso, and former chief engineer and commissioner of the Public Works Department Rajesh Kemprai, are all in the race for candidacy. Additionally, former MP Joyanta Rongpi’s son and nominated council member Mongve Rongpi, as well as the chairman of the council’s Public Works Department board Longshing Tokbi, have formally applied for candidacy, as revealed by party sources. It is noteworthy that the current MP, Horen Sing Bey, is likely to be excluded from the party’s candidacy this time, and this possibility has been widely discussed.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the contrary, sources claim that Amar Singh Tisso, a very close and influential executive member of the council and ally of chief executive member Tuliram Ronghang, is now leading the pack. On the other hand, after discussions with the three district committees, Minister Pegu stated in a conversation with the media that the party has entrusted them with the responsibility of understanding the sentiments of the party officials from the three hill districts regarding the selection of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. <\/span><\/p>\n

Accordingly, they have convened today in Diphu for deliberations with the district committees. Minister Pegu refrained from commenting on the number of applications received for candidacy.
