On Thursday (Aug 24), a bus carrying pilgrims veered off the road and fell into a gorge in Madhesh province, Nepal. All seven passengers on board were killed<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, with six of them being Indians from western Rajasthan. Additionally, 19 people sustained injuries. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday while the bus was traveling from Kathmandu to Janakpur, near Churiamai Temple in Simara. <\/span><\/h3>\n

Superintendent Hobindra Bogati informed the Kathmandu Post newspaper that the bus had a total of 27 people, including two drivers and one helper. The bus driver, Jilami, his co-driver, and the helper have been arrested after receiving treatment at a health center. An investigation is currently underway, but the police suspect that the driver may have fallen asleep. <\/span><\/p>\n

Nepal frequently experiences road accidents due to the country’s poor road infrastructure, which is mainly composed of mountainous terrain. Just the day before, another accident occurred in Nepal’s Bagmati province, where a passenger bus fell into the Trishuli River, resulting in eight deaths and 15 injuries. The bus was on its way from Kathmandu to the city of Hara.<\/span><\/p>\n
