A powerful explosion near Quetta railway station resulted in the deaths of at least four people and injured 20 others on Saturday, as reported by Geo News. The explosion occurred near the station’s booking office shortly before an inbound train was due to arrive, raising fears of casualties typically prompted by crowd gatherings.
The blast took place just before the 9 a.m. scheduled arrival of the Jaffer Express from Peshawar. Fortunately, the train had not yet reached the station, preventing potentially greater casualties.
In response to the incident, emergency services, including police and rescue teams, quickly mobilized at the site. Quetta’s Civil Hospital declared a state of emergency and called in additional medical staff to handle the influx of victims.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the explosion, and further information is anticipated as the story develops.
