From a remote corner of Italy, a 12-year-old girl named Arjina is finally making her way to her adoptive parents, Giorgia Cavicchioli and Elisa Debit, who have been eagerly awaiting her arrival for six years. Arjina is traveling from an orphanage in the Dhanashiri district of Karbi Anglong, India.
Giorgia and Elisa, who arrived in Dimapur on Tuesday, made their way to Dhanashiri in Karbi Anglong district on Wednesday to meet their adopted daughter in the orphanage named Mission Konscience. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed district officials, including Assistant Commissioner Aradhana Das , who were accompanied by the Deputy Superintendent of police, Jayanta Barua, district child protection officer Bashapi Teronpi, and notary Phunu Borah.
Arjina’s adoptive parents, Giorgia and Elisa, shared their joy and relief in a speech delivered in Italian, which was translated for the local audience. They expressed their happiness in finally being able to take Arjina home.
Giorgia, filled with emotion, said that they had been waiting for this day for six years. They had prepared a new room for Arjina, equipped with all facilities to cater to her interests. Arjina, who enjoys singing and playing, will now have the opportunity to grow and thrive in a loving and supportive environment.
Having spent most of her time at the orphanage with a few guitars, Arjina is now set to leave for Kolkata to complete the visa formalities. From there, she will fly from Delhi to her new home in Italy.
